Samsung vs Apple: The age-old rivalry between tech titans has erupted once again, and this time, Samsung is pulling no punches. Following Apple’s glitzy launch of the new iPhone 17 series, the South Korean conglomerate has launched a full-scale social media assault, ruthlessly mocking its American competitor for features it claims to have mastered years ago. In a bold and strategic series of jabs, Samsung is highlighting its own innovations, particularly in the foldable phone segment, and casting Apple as a company that is playing catch-up.

The Foldable Front: “Let Us Know When It Folds”

The first and most cutting remark came as a direct shot at Apple’s glaring absence from the foldable smartphone market. Shortly after the iPhone 17 reveal, Samsung revisited one of its own iconic social media posts from three years ago. Originally posted after the 2022 iPhone 14 launch, the tweet cheekily read, “Let us know when it folds.” At that time, Samsung was already a well-established leader in the foldable space.

In a masterstroke of corporate trolling, Samsung has now reposted that very message with a new caption: “Can’t believe this is still relevant.” This simple yet powerful statement underscores a major divergence between the two giants. While Samsung has been refining its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series for years, Apple has yet to release a foldable device, a fact that Samsung is more than happy to weaponize in the court of public opinion.

The Camera Clash: Is 3 x 48MP Enough?

The mockery didn’t stop at form factors. Samsung also took aim at the camera capabilities of the new iPhone 17 Pro models, which Apple proudly announced would feature a triple-lens setup with 48MP sensors for each. In response, Samsung issued a dismissive post, stating that “48MP x 3 is still not equal to 200MP.”

This is a direct reference to the massive 200MP primary sensor found in Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S series devices. The post subtly frames Apple’s camera upgrade as an incremental step, while positioning Samsung as the true innovator in mobile photography, pushing the boundaries of hardware and megapixel counts far beyond its rival.

The Wellness Wait: Five Years for a Sleep Score?

Apple’s introduction of a new “Sleep Score” health feature in its latest offering also became fodder for Samsung’s ridicule. The feature, designed to give users deeper insights into their sleep quality, was met with a sarcastic jab from the Korean tech company. In a pointed post, Samsung wrote, “Can’t believe some people had to wait five years for a Sleep Score.”

This highlights the fact that Samsung’s ecosystem, particularly through its Galaxy Watch and Samsung Health app, has offered detailed sleep tracking and scoring for years. The post cleverly paints Apple’s new feature not as an innovation, but as a long-overdue addition, implying that dedicated Apple users have been missing out on essential health metrics that have been standard for the competition.
