Revant Reddy Takes Oath as Telangana’s New Chief Minister

Revant Reddy : The swearing-in ceremony of Telangana’s new Chief Minister has sparked widespread discussions today. It might have escaped your notice. The stage was grand, adorned impeccably, as Revant Reddy from the Congress took the oath of the Chief Minister’s office. At one moment, he escorted a woman draped in a saree onto the stage. Then, before proceeding, Revant touched the feet of Sonia. Soon after, Rahul Gandhi stood in honor of the new CM. Within moments, Sonia also rose. This video is now circulating on social media. Interestingly, the woman in the saree was none other than Geeta, the wife of CM Revant Reddy. Yes, Geeta, the niece of senior Congress leader Jayapal Reddy.

Reddy’s political journey has been quite intriguing. He graduated in Fine Arts from Osmania University and commenced his career in printing press. Marrying Geeta wasn’t easy. Geeta’s family wasn’t agreeable initially due to Reddy’s career in politics. However, they eventually consented, and the union took place in 1992. Subsequently, Reddy stepped into politics.

Reddy Embraces Grandparenthood

They have a daughter, Nimisha, whose marriage was solemnized in 2015. The event witnessed the presence of former Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and actor Chiranjeevi. Now, Reddy has become a grandparent. Recently, he shared this joy on social media.

Introducing the Family to Sonia-Rahul Today

During today’s swearing-in ceremony, as Reddy introduced his wife to Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka, he also presented his daughter and son-in-law. Rahul also showered affection on their grandchild. At that moment, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former President Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi, all stood on the stage.

Congress Legislative Party leader Revant Reddy took the oath of Telangana’s Chief Minister on Thursday. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Revant Reddy. Mallu B. Vidyasagar was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana. Among the ministers taking the oath, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, C. Damodar Rajanarsimha, and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy were present.
