Pawan Kalyan OG movie: The anticipation surrounding Sujeeth’s high-octane gangster drama, “They Call Him OG,” has reached a fever pitch, but not just for the reasons you’d expect. While fans are ecstatic for the theatrical debut of Power Star Pawan Kalyan alongside Bollywood’s Emraan Hashmi in his much-awaited Telugu debut, a recent government order in Telangana has sparked significant controversy and divided the loyal fanbase. The film, also starring the talented Priyanka Mohan, is slated for a worldwide release on September 25, 2025, but a storm is brewing over its premiere schedule and ticket pricing.

The Telangana government has officially sanctioned a special premiere for “They Call Him OG” on September 24, a full day before its national release. However, the catch is the staggering ticket price for this exclusive show: a whopping ₹800. This move has been compounded by the approval of a significant ticket price hike for the first ten days of the film’s run, from September 25 to October 4. Moviegoers will see single-screen tickets inflated by ₹100 and multiplex tickets by ₹150, pushing average costs to approximately ₹277 and ₹445, respectively.

This decision has sent shockwaves through social media, particularly creating a rift between fan communities in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Fans in Andhra Pradesh are facing a later premiere, scheduled for 1 AM on September 25, and an even more eye-watering ticket price of ₹1000. The disparity has led to a flood of online reactions, with many fans from Andhra Pradesh expressing feelings of being slighted.

On X (formerly Twitter), the sentiment was clear. One user wrote, “It’s not fair…One thing for TS another for AP,” capturing the frustration over the perceived unequal treatment between the two Telugu states. The confusion and demand for fairness were echoed by another fan who commented, “It should be fair enough to both states, Ap GO needs to be revised.” Meanwhile, some fans were bewildered by the celebratory response to the price hikes themselves, with one person pointing out the irony: “Mad people feeling happy that prices are increased.” The burning question for many remains whether the traditional early morning fan shows, often held at 4 AM, will even take place amidst this new premiere structure.

This pre-release drama adds another layer of intrigue to what is already one of the year’s most anticipated films. “They Call Him OG” is a gripping gangster saga set against the vibrant and gritty backdrop of Mumbai. Directed by the visionary Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under the prestigious DVV Entertainment banner, the film promises a cinematic spectacle.

Pawan Kalyan steps into the formidable role of the titular gangster, Ojas Gambheera, a character that fans are eager to see him portray. The film marks a significant milestone for Emraan Hashmi, who makes his powerful debut in Telugu cinema, creating a thrilling on-screen clash between two powerhouse actors from Tollywood and Bollywood. The ensemble cast is further strengthened by the presence of Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, and the veteran Prakash Raj. With the electrifying musical score composed by the renowned Thaman S, “They Call Him OG” is poised to be a blockbuster, though it will first have to navigate the controversy it has stirred up before its first frame even hits the screen.
